NetGalley Picks of the week

Hello, Bookworms, There is the time to write about the books I have been obsessing about, in NetGalley so here are some books I think worth mentioning about!

Mirage (Mirage #1)by

Synopsis :
In a star system dominated by the brutal Vathek empire, eighteen-year-old Amani is a dreamer. She dreams of what life was like before the occupation; she dreams of writing poetry like the old-world poems she adores; she dreams of receiving a sign from Dihya that one day, she, too, will have adventure, and travel beyond her isolated moon.

But when adventure comes for Amani, it is not what she expects: she is kidnapped by the regime and taken in secret to the royal palace, where she discovers that she is nearly identical to the cruel half-Vathek Princess Maram. The princess is so hated by her conquered people that she requires a body double, someone to appear in public as Maram, ready to die in her place.

As Amani is forced into her new role, she can’t help but enjoy the palace’s beauty—and…

Irina's Eye by H.W. Freedman Book Review

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I had such high expectations of this book. I hate to say it but I was disappointed. The story started strong and had a lot of promising but towards the middle, it kinda lost its focus. I felt it was like an autobiography. The main character it seemed pretty humane like in the real world "humane". In the story, you went back and forth with timelines and slowly was revealed the future/past. I think it would have worked better if you went with one timeline past to future.
Also the main character Vaclav did some things to survive which it made his character real but the way he treated women and his relationship with women was weird.

I would have preferred if Irina's eye was supernatural but I am afraid it was not. The whole story with her didn't add up. I felt it was slapped together right in the end. It did take me a long time to finish it because I felt the story wasn&#…

The Librarian's Vampire Assistant (The Librarian's Vampire Assistant #1) by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff Book Review

Hello, Bookworms,

I am here yet again with another book review!  You may ask how did I discover this book, well I got roped in by a Facebook ad.  Can you believe it? I became a victim of Facebook ads now.
Anyway, Let's get to the review!  First of all, I bought this book because I thought it was a romance but as I said before in my previous post I keep going into books thinking it's something else and the book is always like

and I am oh ok I think this better than I thought! So the main theme of the book is suspense/mystery. Which is excellent. I thought the book was refreshing because in all ridicules of this books it actually made sense. I thought also this book was hilarious. It is rare to read a book and give you chuckles. Writing about it makes me want to laugh. The comedy aspect of the book is great in fact it put a lot of dimension into it. The characters were entertaining but I loved the different characters and for once our main character is a man!  How great is th…

NetGalley Picks of the week

Hello, Bookworms,
I thought I will branch out and talk about books more not just reviews. So here I am sharing books that caught my attention in NetGalley.

Title:A Touch of Gold Author: Annie Sullivan
Gold is wealth. Wealth is power. Power is a curse.
King Midas once had the ability to turn all he touched into gold. But after his gift—or curse—almost killed his daughter, Midas relinquished The Touch forever. Ten years later, Princess Kora still bears the consequences of her father’s wish: her skin shines golden, rumors follow her everywhere she goes, and she harbors secret powers that are getting harder to hide.
Kora spends her days locked in the palace, concealed behind gloves and veils, trying to ignore the stares and gossip of courtiers. It isn’t until a charming young duke arrives that Kora realizes there may be someone out there who doesn’t fear her or her curse. But their courtship is disrupted when a thief steals precious items from the kingdom, leaving the treasury dep…

The Darkening (The Darkening, #1) by E.H. James Book Review

Hello, Bookworms,
By now if you follow my reviews you'll know that I enjoy reading from this author! We teamed up again and I received another arc copy to read.
Well, I went there thinking that is gonna be so scary that I am gonna shit my pants but I was wrong.

Not a bad thing! Lately, I am going to books thinking they are a specific genre an I am so wrong each time but surprised for the best.  Anyway, let's get back to the review. So, first of all, I loved the characters and how slowly they got introduced and then the relationship between the two main characters I found refreshing to see the characters banter and play with a serious situation.

Also, this book felt like it was an episode of twilight which again I found very interesting. I love paranormal situations and the way the author delivered was awesome! I want to talk about the ending but if I do I will ruin the book so all I have to say is the time loop and the way it was presented was great!

Love the short story and…

Single Dad's Cabin: A Mountain Man Romance by Lara Swann Book Review

Hello Bookworms,  I don't want to claim myself as a romantic excerpt but I read enough books to say that I know what I am talking about.  I was tricked by a newsletter and I bought this book. They tempted me and I couldn't resist. I went thinking it would be a new adult but it was a romance.
Fist of all the burning question did I like it?
It was actually good. I did like the way it was set and how the story progressed. It was a slow burning book for the first half and then picked up the pace, of course, you can't have a romance novel without the drama as well. The drama was there, ladies or gents and it was spicy.
Well, I do recommend this book and for those that are asking did it have spicy scenes?  Just a couple and it was very Kosher so you would get more of a romance novel.
I have some questions for you guys it would be awesome if you answered them it will help me advance here and give you something more  The questions
